But look at it like this, russel did make amazing power with the VG and i give him and Z1 all the props in the world for achieving that. Like i said, they were not the first to do it, Escort did it many years ago. But with that being said. Russel is not pushing 1000whp or even 800whp all day every day, they just turned up the boost and tested the limits.. they would be idiotic to drive the car on full boost all the time, let alone no traction on the streets but in 4/5th gears with DR's. If they did do it all the time they would also experience the same Bearing failure that Escort did. Understand that the V6 only has 4 main bearings. that is a lot of load on little surface area. Hense the reason that the 4 cylinders can take the abuse a little better cause they have 5 bearings with less TQ. along with the I6 motors have 7 bearings and can take a lot more TQ and punishment for longer periods.Like i said i am building mine for drag racing, which last i looked my car will only be seeing 7-10.5k rpm. with 30-45psi of boost at all times. So if i was to throw that through a VG or if anyone was it would not last like a I4 or I6 would. As for the tranny, i forgot to put that in my post above, but that also has to be a nissan part only to. So what my plans are is if the 5 speed starts giving me problems like i think it will, mostly sincro's. Then i will upgrade the internals to dogbox gears. As long as im in the nissan casing it will pass. Thank you.
